Phlogging.

I'm blogging from the road today with my phone... Let's call it "phlogging." 9:30 in the morning and it is a balmy 97 degrees in Palm Desert. Or 1000 Palms... not quite sure where I am. Anyway, we just passed hundreds of these electricity-generating windmills. I do not understand even the most basic principles of aerodynamics. My thought was that these skinny propellers would not be very effective. I mean, wouldn't you want something with more surface area to catch more wind?

The Wright brothers designed twin propellers for their airplane that were thin and fast. They were absolutely dead-on. These pioneers designed a propeller that is considered to be more than 98 percent effective EVEN BY TODAY's STANDARDS! I think that is crazy. They did that in their spare time, funded by their bicycle business.

This last week I have been kind of struggling with trying to work on the music for the new CD, while working on photography jobs and other things to try to finance the music and stay afloat. But thinking about the Wright brothers, I realize that is okay. I don't mine financing the passion with something as creative as photography.

I think it is true that you can either go after your dream, or you can just eventually work for someone who went after theirs. Stay tuned. We'll update you on the adventure.
